Read the sig11 FAQ at http://www.bitwizard.nl/sig11/. In all
probability, your hardware is flaky, the RAM that is. Try to replace
the RAM and see what happens. There is nothing wrong with the HDD.
M$Windows will work fine, but Linux strains the hardware to its
limit, so you have to be sure that everything is in shape
