i have exceed and aslo have mix. but i am not able to figure out how to
bring up whole of the desktop of linux on my machine. using export display i
can bring up individual applications but not the whole display.
please a little more help is needed.

This is very well documented in the Exceed manual - and you get readymade
scripts for this.
Exceed commands are coded in something called Exceed Basic (vb like) and
there are hazaar sample modules available.
It is also very expensive - try using VNC or MiX for a free X server for
windows.
