[EMAIL PROTECTED] saw fit to inform LI that:
>the other machine should have the entry of your network in it's
>/etc/mail/relay-domains
As it is a local ip, 192.168.xx.xx will be there by default anyway.
>try using the vsnl server (eg 202.54.9.23) if you have a VSNL account (or
>your own ISP's smtp server)
Like I said, to send out mail, he can set the DS flag on each local linux
box's sendmail to the ISP's smtp server. Or if a GUI client, he can send
mail through the server without any trouble.

You mean, set FEATURE(RELAY_LOCAL_FROM) in sendmail.mc and recompile
sendmail.cw? Don't do that. Any spammer can forge your domain name and
send out mails that way. And why should you use sendmail for what is a
pop3 / imap function?
Install imap*.rpm and you are up and running.

Why do you want to fiddle with sendmail for this? POP3 server, like you
said, is the best thing.
Or better still, create forwarding accounts using /etc/virtusertable
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

@mahindrabt.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] => catchall alias
Then save this and generate virtusertable.db file.
Of course, you must have hosts file / dns etc etc.
And yes, make sure your proxy NATs properly (that is, 10.0.0.x or
192.168.x.x are translated to an external IP), or else it is a major
hassle - lots of security holes :)
