to download Xapps, but methinks the site is not updated frequently.

You should throw in your weight behind every request that comes for a
local linux mirror;-). The sunsite mirror at IISc, Bangalore is sooo
slow that it is a pain. How about mirroring part of it...I think you
should take up selective mirroring...say the LDP, kernel and patches,
latest X, the updated parts from rufus, and the iso images of 3-4
major Linux distros. Am sending a mail to contact@palcom and will ask
friend to do the same.
