Anaconda is the python based install script for RHL. The problems
that you are having seem to be what happened with the initial stages
of development of Ana...So which Redhat CD/build date are you using?
I'm not using Redhat so can't say anything concrete, but try this:
Get the latest bootdisk and updatedisk from any Redhat ftp update
server. They'll have the corrected anaconda scripts. Write the two
disks with either dd or rawrite under win98. Goto RH's site and see
redhat -> support -> errata for command syntax at boot prompt to use
the update disk.
Also check the gotchas under their support pages and
http://www.redhat.com/errata, they usually have instructions for such
obvious goofups;-)
I can understand that you got exception errors while using anaconda
but what is puzzling is that install in text mode also stalls...what
error messages do you get here? The same? Anybody got the same probs?
