Hi ,
I tried all the options that were suggested by the list and its
archives.
Firstly i am not able to start the font server.
$ xfs
aborted core dumped
$ xfs -port -1
_FontTransSocketINETCreateListener: Unable to get service for -1
_FontTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to create listener for tcp
Aborted (core dumped)
I also reinstalled the X* rpms for redhat 6.1
rpm -Uvh --force X*
Still things do not work.
I also tried to set the fontpath in /etc/X11/XF86Config to
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/"
FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled"
and etc after doing mkfontdir in the respective dirs.
Still it says unable to set the default font path .
What could the reason be? Have i missed out something here?
