Hello dudes,
There are some issues with both the sound and display drivers with the i810 espl. on
the boards made by Kobian.
Display Issues -
If you have configured the X server by the book on i810 boards especially on the ones
made by Kobian (models KOB 810 DST or KOB +810E DSX) and X dies with the following
error it could be for this reason:
----------------
(--)gart allocate:cannot allocate memory
(--)SVGA:GART: allocation of 1024 pages filled at page 0.
----------------
<snip>
The KOB 810 DST and KOB 810E DSX motherboard from Kobian does not follow the Intel(R)
810 chipset
+design specifications. You should contact Kobian for support on this product.
The Intel 810 Chipset Design Guide is available here:
http://developer.intel.com/design/chipsets/designex/290657.htm
You can reach Kobian here:

I have already contacted Kobian but am yet to hear from them.
Sound Issues -
When loading the ALSA drivers if you get this error:
---------------
PCI: Increasing latency timer of device 00:fd to 64
snd: snd_intel8x0_codec_semaphore: codec0 is not ready [0x0]
snd: snd_intel8x0_chip_init: invalid AC'97 codec
snd: Intel ICH soundcard #1 not found
---------------
you will have to hack the ALSA sources and insert 'udelay' calls to
snd_intel8x0_chip_init in
cards/card-intel8x0.c after label __ok?
Try to set this value to 500. You may increase this value up to 2000.
Notes:
1) This value is machine dependent.
2) This does not suggest that the sound chipset is broken.
3) This hack will be added to the ALSA source tree only "if a good value is found".

I did as suggested by him and my m/c's sound worked with a udelay(2000).
