kgazder forced the electrons to say:

That is most likely because there is no route to the PPP connection
just established.  Either set up the route from the ip-up script, or
(easier) pass defaultroute as an option to pppd.

Hmm... This seems to be a wrong entry in /etc/conf.modules... Check that file.
