Hi,
I am facing a peculiar problem with the above kernel. I could compile
the kernel with the following commands:
make menuconfig
make dep
make clean
make zImage
make modules
make modules_install
After this copied the zImage file to /boot, set the proper image defs
in the /etc/lilo.conf file, ran lilo. But, when I reboot, I still get
the old kernel, i.e., 2.2.15. I am at a loss to understand the
behaviour. I tried this some 3 or 4 times with the same. There is
absolutely no error message when compiling the kernel. What could be
the problem and its solution?
Again, on my Debian system, I tried the kernel-package with the same
result. The same thing did not happen on RH6.2 system.
Any help/pointers would be helpful.
