qmail basically opens a _new_ smtp connection for every mail delivered to
a domain. I've known sendmail boxes to rapidly reach their connection
limit and slow down when a listserver running qmail attempts to deliver
mail ...
fix: just set
o ConnectionRateThrottle
o MaxDaemonChildren
in sendmail.cf

Lovely. exmh is actually an Extended X Mail Handler (a frontend for the
mh mailer / mailbox format). We run mh folders with sendmail as the mta
here at my office (and read it using pine / mutt, or a customized java
based mailer developed inhouse)

Looking forward to both. Both these are old, and need a _lot_ of change.

It works perfectly, given default settings and an rpm based install.
Quite easy to use imho. I also run a production sendmail on a solaris box
- it is quite robust. Never tried exim or postfix on prod servers (too
lazy to take down the server, patch in a new mta, blah, blah ... while
several irate users keep asking wtf is going on and why they can't
forward chain mail to each other).
