Do a ctrl+alt+F2 to go to a shell. Login as root and run 'xf86config'
Have your monitor manuals ready and answer all questions after checking
the manuals. Things should work out.
You might also try XF86Setup. This is graphical but less up-to-date so
might miss autodetection of some cards (which is probably what has
happened).
Linux does have applications that do all that win apps do (and more) but
if you still want a win base there are 2 options:
Install 'wine'. This is a windows emulator, open source and capable of
running most user applications (from a usenet posting I found that it even
runs x-ray crystallography software designed for windows). However this
might take up some RAM and cpu.
Or you might go back in time and create another partition and load windows
there. If you've done that you need to juggle with 'fdisk' and 'lilo' to
get things going.
