I had never heard of imwheel (the software not the mouse) before. I have
been using XFree86's built in mouse wheel support with few problems. You
can find more info on how to use xfree's mouse support at

Here is how I do it (not necessarily the best way). Click on the window
decoration button that pops up a menu which has items like Close,
Annihilate etc. One of the items you will see will be Stick/Unstick.
Click that. Now the window is sticky across desktops. Move to the desktop
you want to and click Stick / Unstick again.

I hate the task list. Your page application should be configurable (Right
Click -> Properties) to not show the task list. It will show a button
instead which will pop up the task like when clicked.
