Y.V.Deval saw fit to inform LIH that:

If the hard disk type(?) is set to "AUTO" from the BIOS it will
automatically re-detect the hard disk every time the system reboots.

On the other hand if it is set to "USER" it will use the previously
stored CMOS values and will not detect the hard disk change.
