HI,
I started the samba server and it starts with out any problem.I have also
confiugured my smb.conf file as follows
[global]
workgroup = LINUXSERVER
netbios name = MYSERVER
security = user
guest account = nobody
[default]
comment = Public Space
browseable = yes
path = temp
public = yes
only guest = yes
read only = no
When is type in the smbstatus command I get the following error
couldnt open the status file /var/lock/samba/STATUS..LCK
I have put my samba file in /etc/rc.d/init.d/ directory . I dont find the
work group in my network neighbourhood.I would like to know what went wrong
and how to rectify it (This is on red hat linux 6.1) . I thank all for
