hi friends...

i need to install a mail server at my end.....so that can recieve / send
mails with taking all security considerations in mind....but dont need ( and
dont even have time to configure sendmail + qpopper + fetchmail to do
that)....so have choosen "xmail" for it.....

has anybody used it??? want to know its reliability,credibility....

have already installed it ....got to configure it....
the readme says "put the startup script...."xmail" in /etc/init.d/ " ...did
that....chmod it... then it says "then create K??xmail - S??xmail links into
the
proper directories.".....couldnt make sense out of that....so please help...

while inconfiguration it says "Strip XMail executables if You want to reduce
its sizes ( strip filename )
& then Copy XMail executables to /var/MailRoot/bin"

what executables....no file was executable there.....saw permission for all
the files..all are either " .cpp or .h or .tab etc."

setting up a mail server for the first time so please guide as to how to go
bout it.....general funda's
have red hat 6.1...with plenty of disk space.....400Mhz P-II

Please suggest any good mail server suite(which acts as a pop+smtp
sever....sync possible)

hope to get help soon
abhi
