Please look at your rc directories, comapre those symilnks and figure
it out. K??* is for scripts/progs that do not run at startup while S??*
is for those which do.

You got source, either from a tarball or rpm.
Read the README and/or INSTALL files, then do what they say
./configure
make
make install.
or just make and make install
