Hi,
Most ISPs support PAP authentication. Probably you
should try and use PAP instead of a script. Insert
your ISP username and password as follows into
/etc/ppp/pap-secrets:
username * password
Note that password is NOT encrypted. So watch out for
permissions to this file.
You will also have to create
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/chat-ppp0 and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0 files.
In the ifcfg-ppp0 file, give the PAPNAME="username"
option.
I know this reply is kinda cursory but since you've
already configured it for PPP you should be able to do
it.
