If that was the case than why it is working properly under Red Hat ? No junk character
are
printed if I start Red Hat 6.2. This problem has started happening on my SuSE 6.3 for
the last
4 days suddenly.
I noticed one more thing, when lpd daemon starts on startup the printer automatically
starts printing junk characters. I changed the rc.config file through Yast not to start
the lpd daemon. When I manually started lpd daemon ( /etc/rc.d/init.d/lpd start ) it
again
started printing junk characters.
Say if my printing is not on when the machine is booted and after booting if I try to
switch on the printer it starts printing junk characters. But before switching on the
printer if I type lpq it shows no entries.
What type of problem is this ? Can anybody help me out of this ?
My printer is HP Desk Jet 610C.
Thanks in advance.
