Are you saying that you get the non-contiguous % on every boot? I 
would say that this comes up /only/ if you run fsck manually on your 
FS or if fsck does its regular checkup. And reporting the % non 
contiguous is a standard output  after that.

What? Run a defrag? Well, I did run the defrag tool in Debian which 
Shanu pointed out( I never knew it was there in the potato 4 Dsks), 
and it does'nt seem to have done anything significant. Things are 
just the same as before and I still got 2 % noncont. after the 
defrag. Earlier it was 5%.
