my linux was hanging a lot. in order to analyse that, i created another
1G partition in my hdd and installed RH6.0 afresh.

it went well only giving error at the time of XF86config. it created the
config file, then asked for probing the system to cross-verify the
display, and after that said there is some error hence can't continue.
giving options of quit/ back, i selected quit, as going to back keeps on
repeating the error.

it had happened in previous inst also.

then i booted from new inst. and went to linuxconf to mount win95 as
vfat. as soon as i entered those parameters and asked it to mount. it
did mount, but then hanged.

i rebooted, it continued at fsck for half an hour. assuming that it has
hanged, i rebooted, again it went to fsck and continued for one hour.

a few more times and it is not at all continuing from there.

what to do. can i boot from old RH6.2 inst which is still there, and i
have installed in Lilo also.

regards.
