It's even more badly screwed than I thought ....
I tried to boot using my bootdisk with vmlinuz root=/dev/hda5
It mounted hda5 read only, and the damned kernel is 2.2.14.5BOOT
for god's sake. Why was the damned boot kernel installed in the
first place???
Also, I was not able to mount any of my 'doze partitions - they
didn't even show up in fstab. I think I ought to create some entries
using mknod in this case - but with the blasted partition mounted
RO, I can't do that!!!
Help, _please_, I'm screwed badly I think. Maybe I ought to try
accessing hda5 using explore2fs or nemo ... I'll download that at the
office and bring it across :)
