Well, he just repeated what you had told him. why are youi looking at
fstab is what he asks ? and why are you meddling with makedev is also
what he asks ? And where does hardware come from ?
half knowledge is dangerous ! Anyway, I ass-u-me that you know which
partition has linux and which partition has windoze.
So as you now boot thro <whateveryouuuse> which might be a
floppy,cdrom or whatever.
Do a 
Create the directories /oldlinux and /dosc if you don't have already.
mount -n -o remount,rw /dev/<yourlinuxpartition> /oldlinux
and then do a 
mount /dosc /dev/<yourdozepartition>

Then do the copying et al and enjoy.
