as i recently posted, i created additional partitions on my hdd.

as only 4 partitions aer permitted, i had to delete my existing swap
partition /dev/hda2 and recreate another one in an extended partition
/dev/hda2 (again) having one swap /dev/hda5 and two other partitions.

further to this when i boot to my old linux partition (whose swap has
been deleted), it gave

"activating swap partition /dev/hda2. invalid argument."

then it gives inode 296961 has imagix flag set
/dev/hda1: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY, RUN fsck ....

on going to maint mode and running fsck, it gave for half an hours, one
of these:
inode ... is in use, but has dtime set.
inode ... has imagic set
inode had illegal blocks
too many illegal blocks in inode.

and gave option for clear or fix.

i pressed "yes" to all. it kept on going on. it is still not working.

how to attach new swap partition to the old linux inst?

how can the exisiting inst be saved?
