Hi Robin and Devdas,

i have C400 64MB 8.5GB, 8MB video, 48x cd, 1.2MB, 1.44MB, multimedia.

how do i change fstab.
while booting from linux_old hda1 whose swap got deleted, it is giving
error and mounting hda1 in r/o so i can't change the swap partition.

while booting from linux_new hda6, it is again saying that there are
errors on hda1 (defined in fstab :) then it is starting fsck, then
either hanging or not mounting.

going thru boot-rescue, it is going to hda1 but says can't locae vi,
which other editor is there to change fstab and whether it is accessible
during rescue.

in dos, explore2fs is opening both linux partitions in r/o hence can't
change.

what other methods are available.

my hda1 fstab and hda6 fstab are mentioned hereinbelow.
