That sux! Did you try setting the mixer levels for all the channels up?
PCM might be muted. Check again. AFAIK, nothing else needs to be done get
sound working once the drivers are loaded properly.

If aumix works, then the ALSA modules are loaded right. There is no need to
manually modprobe/insmod them.
