Hi folks,
following are the messages of startx. gnome is launching but screen is
almost black and nothing can be read, though keys are working.

pressing ctrl-alt+ brings the display to single screen.
what to do.

somebody has asked how to find x version running on your box. here it is
displayed.

is there any method of adding/removing CR/^M from (CR-LF) while
transferring files between *nix and win. it took me ages to split these
lines in this long linux file, as i used netscape messenger in win.

regards.
