AArgh...and you are trying to run your SiS6326 on this old X server. 
It is not a good idea to try tweaking settings when better stuff is 
available for your hardware....get X 336 from a Redhat 6.2 CD and 
install it. Only if you have problems then.....

Is'nt is clearly mentioned here?

The X server does identify the SiS chipset but is unable to take 
advantage ..... I hope you saw that it recognises only 1 MB of your 8 
MB graphic card. So the message is clear, do a X server upgrade. And 
when you do, disable multiple desktops, wallpapers and the like - A 
BIG waste of memory resources considering each 24bpp wallpaer on a 4 
desktop machine will hog around 8 megs. Anyone on list running a 4  
wallpaper heavy desktop which flies with less than 64 MB RAM?
