hi list
for supporting servlets , your server should be 'java-aware' or
'servlet-aware' or whatever u may want to call it. thing is there should
be something sitting there that knows how to handle servlets. there are
commercial web-servers available which can serve static pages + servlet.
if u want to go the apache way then u have 2 options:
1. of apache Jserv
2. of jakarta/tomcat -- can handle jsp+ servlets
but jserv can't handle jsp pages for that you would have to install an
extra software. so use jakarta/tomcat with apache via a plug-in
mod_jserv.so. and get a jdk for linux platform.
