If you are running Linux at home, then why are you running the httpd at
all? Anyway, check your startup scripts and see what's wrong with it. Edit
it through tksysv, linuxcong, or anything else you like.

Installing qmail! If you are at home, leave it alone. Use postfix instead.

You can and can't. You sure will be able to send mails, and people will
receive them from raven.com, but where will they reply to? You must
appreciate that many people copy the from: field to their address books
rather that hit reply: and find where the mail should be sent.

Files you ned to change are /etc/sysconfig/network and /etc/hosts, though
why some people talk of /etc/hostname, I've been unable to fathom.
Basically, you will need to put your raven.com in place of localdomain.
Restart machine and changes in /etc/sysconfig/network should appropriately
change /etc/HOSTNAME on reboot.
