hi list scanners can produce the text files corresponding to the scanned pages. the scanner has support for german , french , english etc. etc. , now suppose i want it to extend that support for hindi , what things would be required ? as i understand the process 1. it scans the characters and matches them with a pattern-list. (bcuz, it can produce texts corresponding to hand-written texts also) question here is how do u take font-size into account ? font 24 letters and font 8 letters in same document ?? 2. whatever character matches has some code in pattern list , now write to text file character corresponding to that code. would appreciate links/pointers ..
