Hi all
Yesterday I installed RHL 6.2 from PCQ June00 as KDE workstation.
It worked fine yesterday, and today morning kppp was not launching,
saying 'can not open libgxxxx'(don't remember exact name of the library).
I think this is sixth time userhelper has broken down on my machine. And
that too for no aparant reason. I shut down the machine properly etc...
Has anybody experienced the same problem and any *parmanent* work
around?
Don't tell me to setuid/setgid. I have been doing that since November,
RHL6.1.
I am really troubled with this behaviour. I don't know why, these GNOME
libraries always keep on breaking on my machine. I have experienced with
other libraries also. And trouble is, even though, I do not use GNOME, I
am in mess as RHL uses it for everything, say linuxconf or userhelper. If
these libraries are broken, I can't even issue halt, from user command
prompt.
BTW, ay idea, how to make kernel halt smoothly. i.e. without the last
core dump?
Bye
Shridhar
