hello folks.
i want to do something to help the linux cause. the only problem is i
don't know what can be done.
some members wrote that we can write doc and man pages for linux. how is
that done.
there are so many small small problems reported to this and other lists
and solved instantaneously by our learned enthusiastic members. is there
any method we can compile the answer topicwise and send to various
distros for including in their releases.
take, for example, the celebrated write-up by great rajesh fowker on Sis
installation. there was also an excellent informative article by Atul
chitnis on a recent PCQ magazine on the same topic.
so solutions are available but, in the confusion cripling the internet,
people do not know where to search. things like above could as well be
given in the standard linux releases. text files won't take much space.
could anybody having written man pages and likes, guide us into how to
write, whom to contact, et al.
i have not found a single person having slightest doubts on the awesome
potency of Linux. i have not met a single person who is not irritated
some time or the other at the windows callous ways of doing things.
Linux indeed holds immense promise for tomorrow.
can i politely help in advancing that tomorrow to today and now.
regards.
