Hi,

Can anybody give me a pointer on how to setup scsi devices( HDD, CD-RW etc.)
on Linux. In HOWTO's there is nothing mentioned about scsi setup.

Today I went to my friends house to setup Yamaha CD-RW. We were able to burn the
CD in windows. However in linux the kernel(SuSE 6.3 pentium optimised kernel) gave

scsi hosts : 0

SCSI host adapter is not detected. Is SCSI host adapter autodetected in linux ?
What other settings need to be made.

/proc/scsi/scsi contains no devices.

This was my first attempt (unsuccessful) in scsi devices under linux.

Can anybody give me more info on scsi setups. Any pointer/link will also do.

Thanks

Regards
