hello vipin,
i think ur problem is typical. first of all, you are trying to install linux
into one of your extended partitions made by dos FDISK. ie ur E: drive.try
to install latest linux ie Redhat linux 6.2 whose setup is very friendly and
should install with minimal problems. now the main point, u cant just
install linux over FAT32 partition. u need to have some space on the end of
ur harddisk which is unallocated. so try to move all ur F: drive data into
e: drive and then delete ur F:drive from Fdisk so that u have space at end
of HD. then install linux from CD-rom. in which take linux swap partition
atleast double the RAM. and remaining(atleast 2 GB) for linux native. if u r
new to linux go for text mode installation not CUSTOM and install KDE/GNOME
workstation. this should solve ur problem.
and this list is mainly for programmers, and so ur query wont get much
response here. try to send it to (linux help) list.

cheers,
shailesh.
