Ok, If you can install linux, start installing it with custom option and while
partitioning, delete all partitions. and exit installation then and there only.
I hope it allows you to do that. Or while linux installation is going on you
have bash avaialable on other console,  alt F2/alt F3 etc.So try cfdisk from
that shell to delete the partitions.
You need not complete installaion after that....

Once you delete all partitions successfully, boot from a dos disk that has fdisk
and run 'fdisk/mbr' This has to work...

BTW for your two disk problems, remove second disk till you finish installing
98. I hope you are installing linux on it. So once 98 is installed properly,
plug in second hdd and start installing linux. Linux can do all sort of stuff
for you. Even if you are not installing linux on it, keep it away for a moment.
You can recognise the second disk in Dos from fdisk menu. It will allow you to
change current fix disk.
