Hi Rajesh,
1. If you want to mirror 6 partitions, you'll have to make 6 RAID
devices, md0..md5. Use hda1+hdb1 for md0, hda2+hdb2 for md1, etc.
2. Once you've made a RAID device, you cannot access the underlying
partitions directly. So if you've combined hda1 and hdb1 into md0,
you cannot mount hda1 and/or hdb1 individually; you can only mkfs,
fsck and mount md0. It is /not/ possible to create a file on the
first hdd and then start RAID and then see if the file exists on the
second HDD.
3. If you want to check that RAID is working, remove one of the disks
while the system is running (if you have hot-pluggable disks). The
system should continue working and the files on the RAID partition
should still be accessible.
