[LIH] telnet problem

I have some strange problem with telnet server. On my online server
whenever i try to telnet it connects to the server but do not show me
login prompt. What can be the reason for this? The session is as follws:

telnet foo.com
Trying 192.168.1.10...
Connected to foo.com.
Escape character is '^]'.


Please help!!!!!
