I used to use it with RH 6 and from my memory this is what I did:
run: sndconfig --noprobe --noautoconfig
select : ALS 100/110
settings were:
I/O port - 0x220
IRQ- 5
DMA1 - 1
DMA 2 - 3
MPU I/O - 0x330
MPU IRQ - 7 (not really sure - was some time back)
I think there was a test sound - midi would not play but wave would.
Try it - but its been a long time, but I think the settings are right .
