Hi,
I want to change a users login name from say "foo-old" to "foonew".
As far as I can see there is no "rename" facility. Is there one?
I do not want to lose the users preference / recreate them esp. Gnome
settings etc. So I guess I will have to copy these in some way to the
new "home". Another likely way I saw was deleting old user foo-old and
keeping his home directory then creating new user foonew and setting his
home path to foo-old and giving him foo-old's UID so that he takes
ownership of the leftover files.
Any suggestions / improvements /corrections? Or by some fluke am I
right?
