hi,

srridhar:  just one question.  i have an AMD Athlon K7 750.  how 
did u measure the temp of the cpu to be 60 degrees?

A white silicon heat sink compound is available. Make sure you get one 
of a reputed maker. Very little of this is to be applied to the bottom 
of the heat sink bottom and top of the CPU. Rub the heat sink on the cpu 
very gently. This helps it to spread evenly. Mind you, it is not exactly 
a heat conductor, but is a thousand times better than an air gap. So 
JUST fill the air gap. This improves cooling. I have made some power 
electronic circuits, and had  to go into details of heat transfer from 
device to heat sink. The slogan for heat sink compound is LESSER THE 
MERRIER!
