if you have wvdial most likely u will be having wvdialconf. In that case
run
wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
this will fill this config file with default entries. Check if the path to
your modem is ok. You might like to change the speed. At the end of the
config file there will be 2 entries one for your name and another for your
passwd. Remove the comment and fill in your login name & passwd and oh yes
fill in the correct phone no. And thats it!!!
Run wvdial from root or make wvdial setuid root if you like.
