The "invasion of privacy" issue is highly subjective. I don't think
monitoring of mail sent through a company's e-mail server could be
termed invasion of privacy if :
a) The company has specific policies regarding use of the company's e-mail
facility - like say prohibiting use of company provided e-mail IDs for
personal mail.
And,
b) If the company has clearly informed the users that all mail sent out
through the company's e-mail server will be logged and will be subject
to review by the administrators to check for for policy violations.
