hi list
mailing after quite a long time .. thing is my neighbours here view my
linux box with much curiosity and not awe but pity , bcuz i can't listen
to mp3s ( yes mp3 players are there and alsa has drivers for cirrus logic)
i can't watch VCDs ( yes mtv is there , i got my login revoked once bcuz
of it ;o) ) and i don't have a decent browser ( netscape really sucks ,
lynx is well .. not suitable enough for today's sites and amaya simply
bombs , have tried it also). and i can't do printing by click-click. so i
asked them , anything else ? well they don't like this typing , and yes
there is no recycle bin !!!!.
mp3 , mpegs, sound i can quite understand, why
the good support is there or not there ( now don't get back to me with
threats to play aktion. etc. ...) but browser is really really horrible.
there are so many of them , but not a decent browser on linux platform?
this really sucks and sucks hard and half the time i am fighting with this
useless netscape.
other thing is the way people are opinionated.
when we laugh about the denizens of click and point happy world, aren't
we in the same way , opinionated about our CLI. dunno , any way i use
linux more as an academic tool , so i am not the proper person to comment
on it. but this really emerges as the hall-mark of computing in todays's
world :

having a recycle bin !!!!!!

tia and regards
