It is always dangerous upgrading your system, especially between different
versions of the distribution, through a telnet session. But if you /have/
to do it:
* Try to do an upgrade that does not need a reboot. It is always a matter
of crossing one's fingers tightly together when you reboot a remote system.
* Don't upgrade the kernel remotely.
* If you are not going to upgrade, have a couple of extra telnet windows to
the remote machines around.
