Not really ...basically an amr slot is a cut down slot in which you can
insert amr modems ...It is supposed to prevent the electromagnetic
interference caused by having the modem chip integrated on the
motherboard. So far there has been next to no support for it. Ist seems
to be as dead as VL bus.
