The biggest issue I can imagine. Telephone lines send a 75V AC on -48V DC for
ringing. Thanks to ringer fones. Otherwise all digital fones work on 12V supply.
further you will need a transceiver which will lokk after the line status change
and detecting frames etc. Doing it on sound card is beyond my imagination....
