Harveer you got it right that he is starting with runlevel 5 but what
happens if he cant start and then obviously cannot edit /etc/inittab? So he
should pass the following at LILO prompt "LILO: Linux Single" This boots the
system into single user mode with run level 3 and now he can edit!!
