I *honestly* doubt if any of teh big names in India sell Athlon
systems. Those guys are too much sold on Intel.
Also, I don't think the Athlon 'Thunderbird' 850 MHz is available here,
though the ASUS A7V is for around 11K with a Duron 600 for 5K & duron 650
for 6K.
Anyone found the ABIT K7T-RAID here?

Where do u get good and affordable cases with 250 W supplies. Mostly they
offer 235 watts!

If it is 256 MB, PC 133, then a make like Transcend would set u back
around 20K (I guess!)

For a performance system I guess u would go for a 7200 RPM HDD.

why not a DVD?

ASUS has a nice line in cards, based on nVidia. And they have dealers in
India.

TVSE kbd, I guess. Go for PS/2

Build it yourself!
As I understand, u are an educational/research institute. So, u would get
duty exemption also. U can possibly catch hold of some supplier and source
the critical stuff like memory, processor & MB directly.
I know it is going to be a pain. Can u catch hold of some white market
assemblers?
