Hi Sridhar -

Thaths / Atul - correct me if I am wrong - but majordomo currently implements a
'confirmation' system where a mail is sent back to the address which requests
subscription. The actual subscription is accomplished only when the guy
replies to that address.

That way, [EMAIL PROTECTED] may not be able to subscribe ... unless, of course,
the subscription does not match the sender envelope with the randomized token
in the subscription URL ... in which case any idiot replying to that
subscription request will subscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED] to the list.

Can one of you check this out?

I suggest you call up VSNL Bombay and request them _not_ to cc
[EMAIL PROTECTED] when complaining (some of us have also suggested this earlier
- but as we are _not_ net.cops, and can only offer suggestions, vsnl seems to
have ignored this so far). I thought this has stopped (dunno, as am no
longer a vsnl subscriber ...) but anyway it is nice to see that they do care
about spam a bit these days.
