Hi,

I can now successfully fetch mail from the NT server on my linux box. Now want to
send mail to the NT server. When I send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] the mail stays in
queue in deferred mode sayng that ho.dempos.com dns falilure.

In linuxconf sendmaiil configuration I have chosen not to wait for DNS.

For sending mail to the NT server is it necessary to include the NT server in DNS
configuration ?

If yes, then my problem is the NT server domain is different and linux domain is
different.

NT :
                   IP : 192.168.20.1
             hostname : ho_nt_1
               Domain : dempos
MDaemon Server domain : ho.dempos.com ( in eudora this domain name is used )

Linux :

                   IP : 192.168.20.50
             hostname : rhlnux
               Domain : edp

I will have to create a separate zone entry in /etc/named.conf as follows :

zone "ho.dempos.com" {
        type master;
        file "pz/nt";
};

Here I have to use ho.dempos.com or dempos. What about reverse lookup and forward
lookup files. Those also should be created for this new domain ?

What about the following entry :

@       IN      SOA     rhlinux.edp.    rajesh.rhlinux.edp. (

should become following
@       IN      SOA     ho_nt_1.ho.dempos.com.  rajesh.ho_nt_1.ho.dempos.com. (

Can anybody help me out on this ?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
